From Aviation to Space – a broad spectrum of innovations

Exhibitors from around the world will present a broad spectrum of high-tech and R&D projects. ILA provides exhibitors with a wide range of options for their presentations, including chalets, hall exhibitions with integrated stages, as well as static and flying displays showing aircraft in the air and on the ground.and 55 per cent.

High-profile panels, expert knowledge and infotainment live on stage

A comprehensive programme of information and lectures on the ILA stages awaits visitors live on the grounds and online too. Under the segment headings Aviation, Space, Defence & Support, Suppliers and Advanced Air Mobility, there will be fascinating expert meetings, panel discussions, debates and science slams examining tomorrow’s aerospace trends.

From take-off to zero emissions – climate-neutral aviation

Driving sustainable mobility: In the Aviation segment the focus is on the path to sustainable aviation. Whether the topic is hydrogen or electric propulsion, climate-neutral fuels or lowering emissions with digital technology, ILA presents innovative technologies and techniques. They include additive manufacturing and new materials. Using 3D printing for instance, it is possible to significantly reduce the weight of aircraft parts during production, individually by between 30 and 55 per cent. That saves fuel and helps protect the climate.

New mobility: a high-flying industry takes off!

Tomorrow’s mobility in the third dimension becomes reality: #ILA24 is the meeting place for pioneers of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), also known as air taxis. In the corresponding exhibition area featuring an integrated ILA STAGE, the focus will be on vertical mobility – ranging from electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOLs) to unmanned aerial vehicles. Topics will include the use of drones for farming, transporting medicines or inspecting infrastructure from the air, and the use of air taxis in an urban environment.

Safety with advanced technology: Innovations for the armed forces

In order to live in peace and freedom our society must be kept safe. Armed forces that are combat-ready and can strike decisively play a large part in that. In its role as an innovative trade fair, ILA Berlin offers a glimpse of military aviation in the future. In the Defence & Support segment the industry will present its technology projects and visions surrounding autonomous systems, interconnectivity and AI. The spotlight will be on beacon projects such as the Future Combat Air System (FCAS). This forward-looking project focuses on developing a next-generation weapons system – combining manned fighter aircraft and unmanned support platforms. The place to head for the industry and armed forces from around the world is the Military Support Center (MSC) at ILA.

Space for Earth: Europe’s leading space exhibition

At #ILA24 the global space community will be gathering at Europe’s largest and leading space exhibition. Space travel means more than moon missions. Be it climate monitoring, crisis prevention from space, basic research for medicine and technology, or digitalisation with the help of space systems and mobility – ILA demonstrates the wide-ranging uses of space technology for humankind.

The highlight of the space exhibition at ILA is the Space Pavilion – a unique presentation co-hosted by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), the European Space Agency (ESA), The German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the German aerospace industry in the German Aerospace Industries Association (BDLI).

Internationaler Branchentreffpunkt für die Supply Chain im ISC

The International Supplier Center (ISC) is where buyers for OEMs, first-tier suppliers and their suppliers in turn can meet to network. At B2B matchmaking events specially organised to bring exhibitors and buyers together they will be able to make contact with prospective partners.

New talent and networking: focus on young professionals

At #ILA24, education, jobs and careers are once again headline topics. Students of all ages, young talented people, experienced professionals, those looking to switch careers and everyone interested in a career can exchange views with leading employees at the ILA Talent Hub. A new concept targets bringing companies together with young talented people, with a networking programme assisting initial contact both online and live at the event.

New hall concept and increased ticket availability

Among next year’s innovations will be an expanded, more compact exhibition area with three display halls. The centrally located Hall 2 will be available again following the break. The inclusion of this hall means shorter distances on the grounds in particular for exhibitors, delegations and visitors. Following last year’s high demand for tickets, their availability to the general public for the weekend is being significantly increased. Tickets can be purchased online only from December onwards.
