The BDLI welcomes the free trade agreement between the European Union and India. The German aerospace industry is already collaborating with India on numerous successful projects. The agreement offers an opportunity to further expand this cooperation.

"India is an important and fast-growing market for the German aerospace and defense industry – it's the third-largest aviation market in the world. So, we're really happy about the EU Commission's proactive approach. Our industries see India as a growing sales market with high potential for development and manufacturing. For our companies, especially the supplier industry, which is heavily dominated by small and medium-sized enterprises, open, rules-based trade is a prerequisite for participating in global value chains. We therefore expressly support all initiatives that combine market opening with high standards of safety, sustainability, and technology transfer," emphasizes Marie-Christine von Hahn, CEO of the German Aerospace Industries Association (BDLI).
