Structure
Our main activities can be grouped into the following four categories :
- Aviation and Aerospace Systems
- Engines
- Equipment
- Material Science and Components.
Representatives from these four sectors form the Steering Committee of BDLI’s senior governing body. This ensures that the main activities of BDLI take into account the interests of all member companies. In addition, more than 40 expert panels focus on a wide range of topics relevant to the industry.
Member benefits
As the voice of the industry, we encourage our members to engage in dialogue with political institutions, authorities, trade associations and governmental bodies. As trademark owner and co-organiser of one of the world’s leading aviation events, the ILA Berlin provides members with a high-profile international platform that showcases the best in the industry.
Affiliations and advocacy
BDLI belongs to Germany’s most important trade group, the Federation of German Industries (Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie – BDI). At the European level, we are members of the umbrella organisation ASD, the AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe.
In accordance with our statutes and role as a trade group accredited with the German Bundestag, BDLI serves on expert panels and committees and takes part in hearings held by the German parliament. BDLI combines the vast expertise of the aerospace industry in manufacturing, technology and economics and ensures its representation on the political level.
