The association’s major activities are conducted in the fields of "Aviation", "Equipment / Materials", "Defense / Security" and "Spaceflight" representing the four manufacturer groups of the German aerospace industry. Representatives from these groups constitute the supreme body of the BDLI, the Executive Board. They control and monitor all relevant activities of the association in the interest of all BDLI member companies. The legally embodied tasks, which the BDLI performs in the German Bundestag, include hearings in preparation of new laws, active participation in the functional departments and expert committees of the relevant ministries as well as hearings in front of the German Bundestag. In doing so, the BDLI pools all relevant industrial, technological and economic expertise of the German aerospace industry.  Within the association, the political and technical opinion-building process, which the BDLI pursues on behalf of the industry, is supported by a number of forums and expert committees. |
