Galaxy and ADAM award in gold and bronze for the ILA Space Pavilion Organiser of the ILA and co-organiser of the 'Space for Earth' concept, BDLI, honoured in New York – Second award presented in Mannheim New York, 4 November 2010 The diverse, vibrant and emotionally appealing 1,500 sqm Space Pavilion at this year's International Aerospace Exhibition (ILA) wins gold at the Galaxy Awards. The internationally acclaimed prize, which is awarded each year in New York and pays tribute to outstanding achievements in marketing communications, honoured this year's ILA Space Pavilion for the 'Exhibitions' category. The Space Pavilion has been jointly sponsored by the European Space Agency (ESA), the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi), the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) and the German Aerospace Industries Association (BDLI) since its launch at the ILA. The BDLI has taken over project management for the pavilion on behalf of its partners. Be it science, the environment, climate change or safety: the 'Space for Earth Pavilion' highlighted the ways in which space benefits our everyday lives and demonstrated once again the outstanding skills and technologies already possessed by German and European companies in the field of space. The Space Pavilion was one of the exhibition's most popular focal points. It brings life to the magnitude of European and German space and makes it understandable in the literal sense. The main focus this year was access to space, space applications, international research in space and space technology, exploration of the solar system and understanding of the universe. On Friday 5 November 2010, a second award was presented for the 'Space for Earth Pavilion'. The pavilion won bronze at the ADAM Awards in Mannheim. |
