| ECO-EFFICIENT FLYING |
|
Although the air transport sector has already achieved significant success in reducing specific impacts on the environment, the ongoing global growth in demand indispensably requires further improvement of the ecological balance of aviation.
Technological innovations are key elements with which the aerospace manufacturing industry can make its contribution to the air transport eco-strategy. The aim of eco-efficient flying is emissions neutral growth in air transport in the medium term and zero pollution levels in the overall balance of aviation in the long term. Not only technological innovation, but also more efficient infrastructures and operational processes in commercial aviation are required to achieve this goal in the future. The use of non-discriminating, economically compatible regulative tools is also indispensable (IATA‘s four-pillar strategy). BDLI beacon program “Eco-Efficient Flying”; shape growth in a responsible manner. Improving the ecological balance of the aviation industry over the complete life cycle, using Airbus as an example. |
