EPI Europrop International GmbH is a consortium founded to produce the TP400-D6, the engine of the new A400M Airbus military transporter. The TP400-D6 is the most highly powered turboprop engine in the western world; four of them propel this aircraft into the air. The three-spool engine delivers a maximum power output of 11 000 shaft horsepower and the propeller measures 5.3 metres in diameter. The engine combines the proven technology of the four partners: Industria de Turbopropulsores (ITP; Spain), MTU Aero Engines (Germany), Rolls-Royce (United Kingdom) and Snecma (SAFRAN Group; France).
