| Products and Services: Lufthansa Flight Training GmbH (LFT), a wholly owned subsidiary of Lufthansa AG, has been active independently on the world markets since 1997 as a provider of training services for flying personnel. In addition to the flight operations of the Lufthansa Group, LFT’s list of customers includes more than 150 other airlines from around the world. The product portfolio encompasses the basic training of pilots and flight crew, flight simulator training, emergency and service training courses and a wide range of e-learning products. With 35 cockpit simulators in Frankfurt, Berlin, Zurich, Munich and Vienna, LFT is among the biggest European training establishments for pilots and flight crew. The company’s business activities are managed by Florian Hamm and Ludwig Merkel. Lufthansa Flight Training GmbH is based in Frankfurt/ Main. Most of the company’s flight simulators, emergency simulators and mock-ups for service training are located here, along with offices and facilities for 240 workplaces and 970 training places. The other locations are Berlin, Bremen, Phoenix/Arizona, Vienna, Munich and Zurich. The cockpit simulators for various aircraft types are located in Berlin. The Pilot School is located in Bremen. Part of the practical training for new pilots takes place in Phoenix/Arizona, where several training aircraft are stationed. In 2006 LFT opened the Vienna Aviation Campus, which offers training on three simulators. The Lufthansa Flight Training Center Munich, which opened in October 2008, accommodates a service training mock-up, emergency training equipment and three flight simulators. |
