As the strategic partner of many commercial and military aircraft outfitters, Diehl Aerospace provides systems and equipment for the cabins and cockpits of the leading aircraft manufacturers, including Airbus, Boeing, Eurocopter, Embraer and Bombardier. Diehl Aerospace has set itself the mission of being an indispensable strategic partner to aircraft manufacturers by setting new standards for systems and package solutions in its core areas of expertise. To cite one example, Diehl Aerospace is the systems supplier responsible for the design and manufacture of numerous avionics and lighting systems and com-ponents for the Airbus A350 XWB. The coloured LED cabin lighting system for the Boeing 787 is also a recent development of Diehl Aerospace. We place special emphasis on design optimisation, energy efficiency, and improved environmental compatibility, all of which can only be achieved through improved system design. As an active partner in national and European collaborative technology projects, Diehl Aerospace plays a major role in the development, evaluation and implementation of new system approaches and technologies. The use of fuel cells in commercial aircraft is one of the research topics currently being investigated by Diehl Aerospace. |
